Island Cooking, Survivor & Beach Strolls

Last night our CEO, Craig Boundy hosted a wonderful welcome reception. He had flown all the way here on a red eye to be with us. After a rousing speech he mixed and mingled with us all, it was awesome. I got to introduce Stephani to Hiq and Tammy, and we ate with our work colleagues from all over the U.S.

This morning we enjoyed our first taste of Four Seasons cuisine at the Cabana Grill before setting off on a short walk on the beach as a light rain started to fall, a happy surprise for the two of us because it was so hot and humid today.

After our walk we went to our first activity, Island Cooking Demo, hosted by Greg, our executive chef. Greg hails from Southern California and has been living with his family in Nevis for just over a year. He showed us how to prepare a delicious Pan Seared Yellow Tail Snapper with a Sweet Potato Rosti and Green Papaya Slaw.  His colleague took over for a delicious desert consisting of Caramelized Pineapple Crepes.  Following the demo we were treated to the exact same meal at a huge table.  I met our Consultant of the Year, Lynn and her husband, and had a lovely chat about his occupation as an online game developer.

After lunch we went out for a short walk up the beach to the Sunshine Bar, a local hangout. Inside there are hundreds of national flags hanging from the ceiling. It's a shack design, but very cozy and very friendly.  There were several pictures of stars on the wall who had been there including Ellen DeGeneres.

After refreshments we went for a swim in the warm Caribbean water, soaking up some sun before heading in for the evening.

I put together another quick video from today's events which you can watch below.

More to come...
