Brugge in the rain

So, this morning we were awake around 3:30. Stephani listened to her audio book, and I spent about an hour tinkering with the EE pay as you go service, which refused to take my money. We are staying at Martin's Brugge, and it is an awesome location, close to just about everything. We had the breakfast, which included lots of all of the good stuff, and amazing breads, cheeses and yogurts, oh and sausages.

After breakfast I took a stroll down to the square to setup some time lapse videos of the horses and buggies arriving for the impending crush of tourists. Then we set off to find that phone shop.  I guess the issue with cell phones in Europe is, even though the EU is the European Union, the same does not go for telecom providers in different EU contries, the EE SIM card I purchased in Belfast does not work here, so we had to buy a new sim just for Belgium and Amsterdam, and will revert back to EE when we get to Belfast.  The guy in the the phone shop was very helpful, and helped us later on when everything on the phone turned into French for us.

We found the lovely Kon.astrid Park which has a distinct British feel to it with a wonderful pond, fountain and Neptune statue in the middle. We walked around the park snapping pictures and shooting video (for later). Here are a few snapshots from the park.

 Stephani found a shop called Kathe Wohfahrt.. Which translates to Kathie Will Fart for those of you who can't speak the dialog.  The Christmas ornaments in the shop were really nice.  The park bench that Gary found outside was even nicer.

Then the heavens opened so we ducked into a small tea shop for heaven on the baguette, it was a simple Ham n Swiss with tomato and lettuce but it tasted amazing.  Caffe Americano, Caffe Latte and we were well on our way to feeling rejuvenated as we tumbled up Steenstraat toward the sanctuary of our hotel room for the afternoon.
